MAROGO Civils Limited is a Malawian owned construction firm based in Lilongwe which is registered under the Companies Act No. 15 of 2013 as a Limited company.
From its inception in 2018, MAROGO Civils Ltd has seen fast growth and is currently in the 500 million Kwacha NCIC category in both Building and Civil Engineering. It is a well-established and reputable construction company with a proven track record of delivering successful projects with top-notch quality standards.
The company has developed a reputation for fine quality and genuinely believes in executing projects to its client’s satisfaction. From 2022, the company has had numerous projects in which it has done well despite challenges. The major achievements were the timely completion of the Katchakhwala project to the client’s satisfaction and being held as the best project undertaken so far.
For all the seven GESD projects in Chitipa district, we were the best contractor in terms of workmanship. The main challenges are project financing, delayed payments, project implementation planning, among others.
Business Direction
MAROGO Civils Limited boasts of highly qualified personnel at its helm, strategically employed to meet the increased demand for the skills in strategic procurement, project management and cost management.
VISION
To be the leading construction firm in Malawi and beyond by executing projects with exceptional contract management skills to the full satisfaction of clients.
MISSION
To provide the highest level
of services in construction
industry by supplying and
executing the projects with
diligence to ensure
exceptional quality of work
as well as ensuring safety for
those in line of work and
mitigating the environmental
impacts emanating from the
activities by using applicable
environmental norms.
We can hardly come up with an analysis of operational metrics because we have been having problems with record keeping. So, we cannot keep track of the costs incurred in executing projects.
The same applies to the expenses from the payment received, as they aren’t solely used on the intended project. We are in the process of coming up with the software to help in record keeping.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
We always adhere to standards set by NCIC. For instance, we usually go for 42.5N cement and ensure the mixture is always under the design and BOQ. This has helped achieve highquality work and has helped save the Kameme contract.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Revenue & Profit
As already pointed out, record keeping has been a challenge, so it’s hard to come up with Revenue and profits. But we hope to come up with a system that would be able to help us to keep records.
Cost Management
We always try all the means to save costs. For instance, instead of purchasing cement blocks, we mould them ourselves and purchase some materials in bulk quantities to use them for other projects like mesh wire. This has helped as purchases in large quantities tend to be cheaper.
It should be noted that we make sure that we don’t compromise the quality of work as we deplore all those cost-saving methods.
Investment & Capital Expenditure
As a company, we purchased a portable rig, water detector, and water pump, among others. These help in the effective execution of the projects.
Market Expansion
We contracted consultants from the Front Office, MW between 1 and 29/ February 2024 to assist us with our marketing and social media. This has resulted in our social media pages becoming active again, thus exposing the company to a greater audience.
Our strategic priorities include expansion of the company, with a branch already opened in Zambia, diversification by including supplying elements, keeping a minimum number of employees monitoring their productivity and getting the company into the next NCIC category.
Market & Industry Trends
With more projects being implemented and considering the political scene, there will be an increase in invitations for bids. This will increase the chances of getting more projects with our good workmanship record.
Innovation & Technology
We have adopted the usage of modern water detectors as compared to traditional methods of determining water availability.
Partnerships & Collaborations
No partnerships to report at present.
